A parent, baby and toddler group in Basingstoke has been given a boost ahead of its reopening with new toys donated by Hendy Foundation.

Lynsey’s Little Stars Mother and Toddler Group which operates in Old Basing and Sherfield on Loddon has become a beneficiary of the Hendy Foundation which was set up to support charities and good causes in the south.

The Basingstoke charity which is run by Lynsey Appleton runs playgroups twice a week to give parents and grandparents the chance to encourage the children to play with others.

Lynsey said she was delighted with the donation from Hendy Foundation, “I just feel very lucky to have got funding for new toys which will be used in both playgroups as soon as we reopen.”

Hendy Foundation chair Rebecca Hendy said the charity provides a vital service to people in Basingstoke and is exactly the kind of charity that the Hendy Foundation is keen to support.

“Lynsey is so enthusiastic about the playgoups and giving children the chance to play together and we hope the children enjoy the toys we have provided for them.”

Hendy Foundation is a dedicated charity to provide grants to local projects, people and charitable organisations in the areas in which Hendy Group operates.

It provides grants to organisations in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Devon.
