The Wimborne Community Garden is affiliated to the Wimborne Food Bank. The idea for the Community Garden was born from packing food boxes for the food bank and realising that while they are excellent and provide a good array of food for those who need it, there is a limited amount of fresh vegetables included. This gave rise to the idea of creating a garden which could be a source of fresh food for the food bank as well as giving to the volunteers who work in the garden all that such a place can provide.
The land is in the grounds of Beaucroft College and the grant from Hendy Foundation was used to create an accessible pathway which leads to the raised beds and the sensory garden.
